Maserati is on the rise. Why not start a large scale production of Alfieri coupé then? According to Bloomberg, it was reported by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne. The coupé will be assembled together with Levante SUV at the Mirafiori factory in Italy.
However, the production car will be fitted with a 3-litre V6 engine borrowed from Ghibli sedan delivering 330 and 410 hp instead of the 4.7-litre V8 used in the concept. By the way, Alfieri platform will be also based on Ghibli. If everything runs to plan and the company’s profit increases by 54 per cent by the end of this year, the premiere will most probably arrive in two years.
As reported by auto.vesti.ru, production of Alfieri will become another stage of growth strategy of Fiat-Chrysler group developed by Marchionne. The luxury model should pit against the German trio and become an alternative to top-rank models with similar quality level.
