New surprises brought by Bugatti. This time it’s a ‘Legend Edition’ of Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse hypercar inspired by the pre-war Type 18 Black Bess model built from 1912 to 1914.
Don’t be confused by the fact that the Type 18 Black Bess was fitted with 5-litre 4-cylinder in-line engine delivering 100 hp. Only seven of them were produced with one of them belonging to the company’s founder Ettore Bugatti. The new version will be equipped with 1,200-hp 8-litre W15 quad-turbocharged engine and dual-clutch automatic transmission. The hypercar’s top speed is 408 km/h with 0-to-100 km/h sprint made in 2.6 seconds.
Veyron will be painted black like the Type 18. 24-carat gold will be used for radiator grille coating while the interior will be finished in Havanna leather with hand-painted sketches on it.
Only three Bugatti Veyron Black Bess editions will be produced. The premiere will be revealed in April at the Beijing Motor Show.
