AutoBild journalists conducted interesting performance tests with Peugeot RCZ R vs. Porsche Cayman PDK. Who could have thought that the French car would give Cayman a good run. Let us remind about the technical specifications of each car. Porsche is equipped with six-cylinder naturally-aspirated 2.7-litre engine tuned to produce 275 hp and 290 Nm. Torque is transmitted to the rear axle via the seven-speed PKD (double-clutch) transmission. In its turn, Peugeot is fitted with the four-cylinder turbocharged 1.6-litre engine. In spite of the small total displacement, the motor delivers 270 hp and 330 Nm! RCZ features front-wheel drive layout and six-speed manual gearbox. Taking into account the advantage of Porsche in engine displacement and the speed of the gearbox, the results demonstrated by both cars were almost identical. The only discipline where Porsche outperformed the Peugeot was braking. Below you can find the data received in the course of the tests.
