Representatives of the German automobile magazine SportAuto published the results of the performance tests in which the Audi R8 V10 with the new S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission competed against the Porsche 911 Turbo (991). Let us note that it’s one of the first performance tests involving the standard version of the 911 Turbo. The powerplant of the R8 is a naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 with direct injection. It delivers 525 hp and 530 Nm of torque. The engine of Porsche has a smaller capacity and fewer cylinders; however, its twin turbochargers level up this disadvantage. It produces 520 hp and 710 Nm of torque. The journalists performed acceleration and deceleration tests, measured the slalom and Hockenheimring Short lap times. The tests demonstrated Porsche’s absolute supremacy in all driving disciplines; however, both cars scored the same amount of points — 52 out of 60. In spite of this fact, the 911 secured an indisputable victory as it had demonstrated better acceleration, deceleration and lap performance. Below you can watch the videos of the best lap performed by each car and also the data received in the course of the tests:
