The engineers from Porsche don’t rest on their laurels but work on designing the new engine lineup. The first car to get the new motor is going to be Porsche Panamera. Those will be the all-new V6 and V8 engines. However, we will have to wait 3 more years for the premiere as it will arrive no sooner than in 2017.
Porsche plans to share its developments with other brands which are also part of the Volkswagen auto group. However, the engines intended for Porsche vehicles will ensure sportier performance.
Auto.vesti.ru reports that right now the engineers work on creating motors which are going to be used on the new Volkswagen modular platform called the MSB. MSB-F will underpin the next-generation Porsche Panamera, with the front-mounted engine continuing to support both rear- and all-wheel-drive setups. The new platform will also support the new Bentley models which is also part of the Volkswagen auto group.
Porsche chief engineer Wolfgang Hatz said in his interview to Autocar that the current developments would provide Porsche with engines for the next 10 years of cars. It looks like a very powerful “non-hybrid” muse visited Porsche. Right now we have little left to do but wait for the debut of Panamera.
