Seat Leon Cupra became the fastest front-wheel drive car to do a Nürburgring lap. In the hands of the racing driver Jordi Gene the stock car lapped the Nordschleife in 7m 58.4 sec. The previous record of 8m 7.97 sec was clocked by the Renault Megane RS Trophy back in 2011. The record-setting vehicle was wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and that was its only difference from a stock car. The average speed of the Leon Cupra was 154.9 km/h and its top speed reached 242 km/h.

Leon Cupra became the most powerful model in the entire Seat history. A 2-litre turbocharged engine delivering 280 hp is under its bonnet. The customers can choose between the manual and semi-automatic DSG transmission. Leon Cupra’s most powerful modification sprints to 100 km/h in 5.7 sec. The exterior of the sports flagship differs from the regular Leon by having an aerodynamic body kit and light alloy 18-inch wheels. The new model goes on sale in spring but there is no information regarding the time of its arrival in Russia.
