One can’t say that small supercar manufacturers pop up like mushrooms after a spring rain but from time to time mass media reports about another premier from another carmaker. This time it’s about the new sports car from Canada. Four years after the foundation of the Felino company, the former racing driver Antoine Bessette revealed his masterpiece to the public. Felino CB7 was officially unveiled in Montreal.
The new sports car is not revolutionary in its construction. It features a rather typical layout — a tubular space frame, carbon fibre body panels. It is equipped with a 6.2-litre GM V8 producing 525 hp. The car is fitted with a front-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive and six-speed transmission. A track-day modification is available with an optional pre-ordered sequential gearbox and carbon fibre ceramic brakes. Street legal version is fitted with 355mm steel discs. Low-profile tyres measure 245/40R18 at the front and 315/30R18 at the rear.
Felino uses independent suspension and the weight distribution is a perfect 50:50 ratio. The most extraordinary feature of the new car is its exterior. Apart from the untypical body outline, the car is fitted with gullwing doors and rear view cameras instead of mirrors.
The proportions of the Felino CB7 are not gigantic. Its length is 4.2 m, width — 1.93 m and height — 1.13 m. The car weighs 1135 kg. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. There is no information regarding its top speed yet. The sales of the Felino CB7 will start next year. It should cost less than 100,000 USD in Canada.
