Subaru revealed the all-new version of the legendary WRX STI. However, Impreza is not in its name anymore. Under the bonnet you can find a slightly upgraded version of the former 2.5-litre turbocharged engine. Its maximum power is 305 hp transmitted to all four wheels with the help of a six-speed manual gearbox. Subaru still does not have any alternative to the manual transmission while its direct competitor Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X offers both the manual and semi-automatic transmissions for a long time already. Upgraded transmission features the traditional for Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive system with 41:59 torque distribution ratio between the front and rear axles. Manual mode lets the driver opt for one of six locking levels to suit a particular road condition. Apart from that the car has not suffered any essential changes on the engineering side; however, the exterior of the new model resembles the above mentioned competitor a lot.
