AMS, the worldwide famous American tuning studio, offers various tuning kits for Nissan GT-R. The most powerful kit available is the AMS Alpha 16 tuning package. Quite recently, the owner of the Nissan GT-R, featuring the above mentioned tuning kit, conducted ¼ mile tests behind the wheel of his car. One should mention that the vehicle lacked any form of weight saving and moreover it was equipped with a roll cage. Before the runs the owner weighed his Nissan GT-R and its total weight without the driver was 1750 kg. GT-R was set to run under Syvecs system control. All in all, the vehicle had 5 runs with all of them performed in less than 9 seconds! The first run was made with the “average” boost settings but nevertheless it was enough for an 8.84-second result. For security reasons the owner was further on increasing the boost pressure step by step, showing better results with each increase. The next runs were completed in 8.81 sec, 8.66 sec, 8.25 sec and the last run was the best one — 8.11 seconds at 280 km/h when crossing the finish line!
