Mercedes-Benz announces the resurrection of its premium Maybach brand. Moreover, they are to introduce new Maybach models on the market till the end of this year. It’s true to say, they are planning to produce a stretched fully loaded version of the latest Mercedes-Benz S-class under the name of the legendary luxurious car. Like former Maybachs, the new vehicles will be notable for the exclusively expensive equipment, trimming materials and various stylistic elements.
New Maybach will be of higher rank than the renewed Mercedes-Benz S600 which was revealed by the German company in Detroit. The engine range of the premium sedan will comprise V8 and V12 powerplants. The most powerful among them is going to be a twin-turbo petrol motor producing 523 hp. According to Mercedes representatives, the price of Maybach is expected to start from $250,000 USD and the vehicle will compete with Bentley Mulsanne and Rolls-Royce Phantom.
The Maybach brand ceased to exist in the end of 2012 due to financial losses. Mercedes-Benz did not make any loud announcements that time, closing quietly its top range branch. The price lists started featuring “out of production” message in Maybach columns.
