Performance tests: RS7 Sportback vs. M6 GC Competition vs. CLS63 AMG-S vs. Panamera Turbo

Journalists from the German auto magazine gathered all top German business class sedans in one test. Noteworthy is the fact that all the cars which were taking part in the performance tests are the most powerful modifications available today. All 4 vehicles are fitted with 8-cylinder twin turbocharged engines though the displacement, horsepower and torque of each of them are different. The car with least capacity is Audi — just a 4-litre engine — however it shows impressive 560 hp and 700 Nm of torque. BMW is equipped with a 4.4-litre motor which is able to produce 575 hp and 680 Nm in its top Competition version. In spite of a 4.8-litre engine, the power demonstrated by Porsche is the least impressive — 520 hp and 770 Nm. Mercedes is an absolute leader in power and torque — 585 hp and 800 Nm produced by a 5.5-litre engine. The tests included straightline performance —and this time the German journalists decided to accelerate the cars up to 250 km/h — and also Sachsenring lap times. Mercedes turned out to be the winner of these tests demonstrating great results both in straightline acceleration and lap time without losing anything in comfort and ease. It should be noted that BMW was the only rear-wheel drive vehicle in this test and lost to all its competitors in 100 km/h acceleration but was the best in 250 km/h acceleration time. Porsche Panamera Turbo turned out to be the fastest on the track.
