Kia decided to put competitive pressure on the world’s most famous automakers that produce high-performance luxury cars. And the first fruit is the Kia K900 delivering 650 hp revealed at the SEMA show.
Under the bonnet sits a 5.0-litre V8 engine fitted with a Garrett 2871R twin-turbo unit mounted underneath the luggage compartment floor. By choosing this rather unusual location, the engineers were able to reduce the risk of engine overheating.
The car boasts of a stiffer suspension and a powerful brake system, which comprises Ksport 8-piston brakes paired with 15-inch cross-drilled rotors.
The Kia K900 features a front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser, carbon fibre elements and chrome trim. It rides on 21-inch HRE RS100 wheels wearing wide low profile Pirelli P Zero tyres.
The boot is designed to store a helmet to remind about the car’s sports DNA, as two 11-inch displays integrated into the front seatbacks might be a little confusing.
