In the second quarter of 2015, McLaren will unveil a new supercar, formerly codenamed the P13. It will be positioned below the 650S in the company's lineup and rival the Porsche 911. The official name of the new model is the Sports Series.
The story of the McLaren Sports Series will appear on the Internet under the #BlackSwanMoments hashtag. It will be divided into 13 small chapters «to tell stories that have truly changed and challenged people’s beliefs”. However, the car itself will not be revealed.
The company hopes to sell around 2,000 to 2,500 units per year, while the price of the new model will start at around £130,000. The model will be available in coupé, convertible and Gran Turismo body styles and will have a small luggage compartment in the rear part of the car.
The Sports Series supercar will sit on a carbon-fibre chassis and carry an eight-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine delivering 450 horsepower.
