Range Rover may turn into Land Rover

The facelifted Range Rover Evoque may be produced under the Land Rover brand. The update did not bring any drastic changes — the SUV features slightly modified front and rear bumpers, revised interior trimming and a new multimedia system.

As reported by L'Automobile Magazine, Land Rover has set a course for new strategy — the Range Rover lineup will comprise exclusive models only, while the Discovery and Discovery Sport will be spinned off into a separate group under the Land Rover brand.

As shown in the patent photos, which fell into the hands of the French journalists, the five-door Evoque wears a Land Rover logo. On the other hand, a three-door version may still remain part of the Range Rover family. As a result, the three-door variant may get a higher trim level, while the five-door Evoque will become LR Freelander’s successor.
