Automobili Turismo e Sport have come up with the street-legal version of the Sport 490 track car.
The name of the new Italian speedster is the Sport 490 Stradale. Under the bonnet, it still carries a 1.4-litre 235-hp Extreme engine sourced from a Suzuki Hayabusa superbike. It hits 100 km/h in 3 seconds, while its top speed is 230 km/h.
The engineers have readjusted the suspension, fitted the car with a new transmission with a reverse gear, added a limited-slip differential, and introduced a hand brake. The interior has also been refined. The speedster tips the scales at a mere 500 kg.
The major advantage of the street-legal version of the Sport 490 model lies in its ability to reach the track under its own power using public roads.
