A Porsche official has denied the speculations that the company develops hybrid versions of the Macan and 911 models.
Based on earlier reports, both the Macan and the 911 were to get hybrid versions. Porsche’s hybrid powertrain manager Manfred Schumann told TopGear that it is impossible.
The hybrid powertrain is too big for the Macan and they will have to downsize it first. At the moment, there are no efforts in this direction.
As for the 911, Porsche’s CEO Matthias Müller was speaking about possible production of a more eco-friendly model; however, the company is not planning to offer a hybrid version of the 911.
