Production of Lamborghini Urus may be delayed due to an ongoing economic crisis.
The SUV was scheduled to arrive in 2017, however, Lamborghini and Volkswagen Group started to have some doubts about it. “We are convinced the Urus can significantly boost global sales, but the financial conditions need to be sound”, said one of high-ranking Lamborghini officials, speaking to Autocar on the condition of anonymity.
The new model is based on the MLB platform, which is set to underpin the upcoming second-generation Audi Q7 due in 2015.
The Lamborghini Urus will reportedly have a price tag somewhere around €200,000. However, it remains unclear if the new SUV is going to hit production.
