Fans of the Nissan GT-R R35 know pretty well that the first «seven-second» GT-R R35 had been customised by the overseas tuning studio AMS. The car is dubbed the Alpha Omega. As reported by the representatives of the studio, it is used to test all the innovations developed by AMS. The previous world record set by the Alpha Omega was 7.98 seconds with the speed of 300 km/h when crossing the finish line. The car’s weight was reduced due to replacing some of its elements with carbon fibre ones, removing the seats, etc. Moreover, the engine, transmission and suspension have been heavily modified.
However, other tuning studios were not legging behind either and were able to demonstrate great results as well. The second GT-R R35 to hit 8 seconds on a quarter mile distance was the car tuned by ETS. Its result was 7.81 seconds and 294.5 km/h. A bit later, a Nissan GT-R customised by FPerformance set a Middle East quarter mile record — 7.929 sec at 289.90 km/h. Quite recently, the car tuned by ETS has “updated” its record, improving it by 0.01 seconds — 7.80 sec at 293.6 km/h. After all these achievements, the result of the first “seven-second” GT-R R35 Alpha Omega did not seem so eye-watering anymore.
On October 7, 2014 the well-familiar Alfa Omega set a new world record, putting all its competitors behind again — 7.700 sec at the speed of 300 km/h! As reported by the company’s representatives, the updated engine delivers 2,000 hp and there is no reason to doubt that: this GT-R jumps from 0 to 300 km/ in just 7.7 seconds! By the way, the car tuned by AMS has also set a new speed record when crossing the finish line of a quarter mile distance — 306 km/h, although not during a record-setting attempt. Unfortunately, AMS is still getting redy with its official video, however, we do have a time slip of the record-setting run.
