German AutoBild magazine conducted performance tests of the top modern sports cars: AUDI R8 V10 S-Tronic, BMW M6 F13 Competition Package, Nissan GT-R R35 Mk.3, Porsche 911(991) Turbo S. The tests included acceleration and braking dynamics measurements. Porsche’s performance turned out to be the best but its opponents also showed good results.
Porsche is an absolute leader in acceleration dynamics due to its all-wheel drive, “Launch Control” start system and PDK automatic transmission. BMW M6 is an outsider in terms of acceleration from standing start as it is nearly impossible to fully implement almost 600 hp on a car with rear-wheel drive and road tires. However if we have a look at acceleration time from 0 to 300 km/h, M6 has a stable second place staying just a little behind Porsche.
