Mercedes-Benz has confirmed its plans to use a twin-turbocharged engine borrowed from the AMG GT supercar in the C63 AMG sedan and wagon.
The new models will be revealed at October's Paris Motor Show but the company has already confirmed the use of a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 borrowed from the AMG GT that produces 462 and 510 hp. The C-Class models are likely to get a detuned version. But let's leave the sad things aside.
Mercedes-Benz assures that the new V8 engines will help to reduce fuel consumption without deteriorating the car’s aerodynamic performance, which would definitely bring a pleasant surprise for the drivers.
The cars will go on sale next year — the sedan will come first in February, while the wagon will arrive in April. As simple as that.
