Sochi Autodrom will host another international race in 2015. So far, the information about it is kept under wraps.
“We are engaged in negotiations with various series. At the moment, we are on the home straight with signing an agreement with one of the largest championships”, Sergey Vorobyov, chief of the racing circuit, said in his interview to Autonews.ru.
Apart from the Formula 1 Grand Prix, scheduled for October 11, 2015, the circuit will host one more international race. All details will be available on September 19th.
What we know now is that Vitaly Petrov, a DTM driver, will be present during the announcement of the name of the race. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that the series under question is the DTM touring championship. Moreover, as it has been reported earlier, DTM Boss Hans-Werner Aufrecht was open to adding another Russian racing track to the series’ schedule in addition to the Moscow Raceway: “The Russian market is so big that one race is not enough here”.
