Mercedes-Benz's AMG performance car division considers becoming a co-owner of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta.

The German participation in MV Agusta is expected to be 15–20 percent. Moreover, apart from financial investments, AMG also plans to share its vast experience. Official announcement will be made this November.

This cooperation is mutually beneficial. The manufacturer of sports bikes will increase its sales, while Mercedes-Benz will be able to close the gap between its market rivals, Audi and BMW, both of which work closely with motorcycle companies.

It its turn, Audi took Ducati under its wing, while BMW has a Motorrad division, which deals with in-house production of motorcycles. Time for MV Agusta to get its support.
