From the very first day after its presentation Nissan GT-R R35 began bringing joy and wonder to the petrol heads all over the world. There are a lot of reasons for that starting from its straight line dynamic characteristics and up to a more reasonable price in comparison with its competitors in the same specifications category. We have already witnessed several times what large potential this car has even in its factory version when talking about straight line acceleration. But let us not forget that Nissan GT-R also shows great “lap” results. Explosive news about its Nordschleife lap time got out of sight for a while but as it usually happens it was only the calm before the storm. Quite recently Nissan presented a new GT-R version with a proud name NISMO (Nissan Motorsport).
Under its bonnet there is still VR38, which is so much familiar to us, but it had undergone a few changes. Upgraded intake and exhaust systems and also new turbos helped increasing the engine’s output up to 595 hp and drive torque now has the impressive 650 Nm. According to Nissan engineers, they have set the limit of Nissan’s power at 595 hp level intentionally to extend the operating time of the gearbox, hinting that the potential of the engine with different turbo types has not been unlocked yet. Also due to carbon fibre body parts the sport car’s weight is 65 kg lower. All these manoeuvres helped in achieving great results on the famous lap. New Nissan GT-R R35 NISMO lap time is 7'08"679 min.
