By 2016, BMW plan not just to facelift the 5-Series but to upgrade it significantly.
As reported by Autobild, the most powerful BMW M5 version will boast of 626 hp and a semi-autonomous driving technology. In addition to that, the new 5-Series will be 100 kg lighter.
The information about the entire engine lineup has not been confirmed yet, however, it is expected to include hybrid powertrains comprising a 2.0-litre engine and an electric motor, and 3.0-litre 6-cylinder and 4-cylinder turbocharged engines.
Apart from that, the company decided to enhance the quality of materials used for interior trimming and change the car’s design.
