Mercedes-Benz decided to think big and change the names of its SUVs.
The M-Class will undergo a major update by 2016. The new model is expected to be completely redesigned. Under the bonnet, it will carry a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 delivering 333 hp. All technical updates will be accompanied by a change of name.
The revised M-Class will be called the GLE-Class. As a result, the M-based cross-coupé will be also renamed to the GLE Coupé.
The next-generation GLK has not been neglected either — it will get the GLC name. It was made to tie the model to other Mercedes models in the C-Class range.
